Small Batch Titanium Fittings, Zero Cutting | WPT2/WPT5, ASTM B363 + ASME B16.9, As-Stock, No Re-Cut

Meta Description: Small batch titanium butt weld fittings with zero cutting — ASTM B363 WPT2/WPT5, ASME B16.9 standard dimensions, dispatched as-annealed from rotating stock, no re-cut, no hand-ground bevel. Same heat, same MTC 3.1, same export pack as full lots.

What "Zero Cutting" Means Here

Not a marketing word — a process promise:

  • Piece ships in its standard ASME B16.9 geometry — no tangent trim, no leg cut, no angle re-form
  • Bevel is the original formed bevel, machined to 37.5°±2.5° at forming stage — not re-ground after a cut
  • Annealed before dispatch, pickled, bevel-capped — exactly as the rotating heat leaves the line
  • Heat number on tag = heat number on MTC = heat number on PL

If your job uses standard center-to-face (LR 1.5D / SR 1.0D), you do not pay for cut labor, and you do not inherit a re-bevel risk.

Who This Page Is For

  • Shutdown spares: 2 elbows + 1 tee, need them Thursday
  • Skid prototype / FAT loop: small qty, full cert
  • First-time titanium buyer: trial lot before project award
  • EPC vendor qualification: sample pieces, audit-ready
  • Distributor top-up: refill standard SKUs without a tonnage PO

Small Batch ≠ Lower Standard

One piece or one pallet — the metallurgy does not change with the invoice.

Stock Reality (honest)

Item Full-lot order Small batch (zero-cut)
Grade WPT2/WPT5/WPT7 Same rotating heat
Geometry B16.9 standard B16.9 standard (no trim)
Bevel Machined 37.5° Same machine bevel, capped
Heat No. Etched + MTC-linked Identical linkage
MTC EN 10204 3.1 3.1, same scope
Pack ISPM-15 crate Same crate, scaled to qty
Grade NPS SCH Status
WPT2 (Gr2) 1/2–4 (DN15–100) 5S/10S/40S Seamless rotating heat, zero-cut dispatch
WPT5 (Gr5) 1–3 10S/40S Project heat, quoted pre-PI
WPT7/WPT12 1–4 10S PO-fronted, same no-cut rule

Large bore (NPS6+) = project heat / welded route — scheduled, not "shelf zero-cut". We say so in the first reply.

Why Zero-Cut Sometimes Beats Cut-to-Length

  • No saw kerf, no heat-affected trim edge
  • No re-bevel variance from hand finishing
  • Fastest dispatch — no secondary operation queue
  • Cheapest certifiable option for standard layouts
  • Field welder gets a fitting identical to the P&ID symbol

Standards & End Prep

  • Material: ASTM B363 / ASME SB363 (WPTx)
  • Dimensions: ASME B16.9; stub end MSS SP-43
  • Bevel: ASME B16.25, 37.5°±2.5°, plastic cap
  • Surface: pickled descale, argon-clean ends, no steel contact
  • Annealed after forming; stress-relief per code on cold-formed pieces

Traceability (same as full lot)

  1. Ingot → heat No.
  2. Formed blank → etched heat
  3. Annealed + pickled → re-tag, no re-cut
  4. MTC 3.1: measured interstitials + tensile, heat-to-ingot
  5. Tag = MTC = PL (three-way match)

Inspection on Small Batch

  • OD / wall / ovality / center-to-face per B16.9
  • Visual + PT on body
  • PMI spot (Gr7 Pd check on request)
  • Dimensional report per piece on request
  • Pre-ship photo: tag + bevel cap + crate

Export Docs (no scale-down for small qty)

  • CI + PL (heat-referenced)
  • EN 10204 3.1 (3.2 SGS/BV/TÜV PO-fronted)
  • COO on request
  • HS reference: WCO 6-digit 8108.90 base; destination sub-heading via broker
  • ISPM-15 case, desiccant, bevel cap

FAQ — Small Batch Titanium Fittings, Zero Cutting

Q1: Is "zero cutting" the same as "stock item"?
A: For standard B16.9 sizes on rotating heat — yes. It ships as-formed, no tangent trim, no re-bevel.

Q2: Does small qty get a real MTC 3.1?
A: Same 3.1 scope as a full heat. Measured chemistry, heat-to-ingot, QA signature.

Q3: Minimum order?
A: Trial qty handled (spares/prototype). No "tonnage-only" gate for standard SKUs.

Q4: Can I mix elbow + tee + reducer in one small crate?
A: Yes. Each piece tagged, one cert pouch, one PL.

Q5: Is the bevel hand-ground after cutting?
A: No — that's the point of zero-cut. Original machine bevel, capped, argon-clean.

Q6: What if my layout needs a custom tangent?
A: Then it's a cut-to-spec job (separate route). We tell you before PI — no silent upsell.

Q7: Gr5 small batch?
A: Project heat, quoted pre-PI. Same no-cut discipline; aviation claim only with PO-named AMS.

Q8: Dispatch window?
A: Rotating WPT2 small bore → pack same working week after lot confirm. Gr5/project heat → schedule quoted.

Q9: HS code?
A: WCO base 8108.90; country sub-heading via broker. Process statement supplied.

Q10: Will cert survive auditor review?
A: Tag=MTC=PL three-way match + measured interstitials + QA sign-off — the default, not an add-on.
