What is a Class 600 Titanium Weld Neck Flange?

A weld neck flange (WN) uses a long tapered hub butt-welded to the pipe, giving the best fatigue, thermal-cycle and stress-distribution performance of all flange types. Class 600 is a high-pressure ASME B16.5 rating used for reactors, high-pressure acid lines, offshore topsides and critical corrosive process systems.[5](@ref)

Made from titanium Gr2 (TA2), the flange resists chlorides, seawater, wet chlorine, dilute acid and oxidizing media where 316L stainless steel pits, sensitizes or fails. For severe crevice-corrosion duty, Gr12 (TA10) is offered; for high mechanical load, Gr5 (TC4).
