Not a forecast from a trading desk. Just what we see from the warehouse: which grades are getting cheaper, which are not, and what that means for your RFQ.

Market Snapshot This Week

China sponge titanium: quoted around RMB 43,000-45,000/tonne for commercial grades, with the high-purity line softer than a month ago. Four consecutive weeks of mild decline through mid-October.
GR2 plate (3-50mm): conversion-cost anchored. Sponge dropped, but finished GR2 plate prices barely moved — the saving goes to processing, not tag price.
GR2 tube / bar: stable-to-soft, negotiable on volume.
GR5 (Ti-6Al-4V) plate & bar: held firm. Aerospace backlog keeps alloy line tight; no pass-through from cheaper sponge yet.
Thin cold-rolled GR2 coil/strip: stable, export demand supporting the thin-gauge segment.

What This Means for Buyers

CP-Ti (GR1/GR2): this is the negotiation window. Spot pricing is flexible, especially for cut-to-size stock. If your project runs on GR2 — heat exchangers, tanks, seawater piping — quoting now beats waiting for a drop that may not come before year-end.
GR5: do not wait for a sponge-driven discount. Alloy pricing is tied to aerospace slot, vanadium cost, and melt capacity, not commercial sponge. Lock delivery, not hope.
Wire: electronic/pull demand keeps fine titanium wire tighter than plate. Small-batch lead time matters more than unit price here.

Lock vs Wait — A 3-Line Rule

Have a PO or fixed BOM before year-end → lock GR2 spot now, cut later. No firm schedule yet → take a stockist quote valid 7 days, do not commit capital to speculation.
GR5 in the BOM → secure slot + MTC now; price stability is a delivery issue, not a discount issue.
Mixed order (GR2 plate + GR5 machined parts) → split the logic: GR2 on spot, GR5 on confirmed slot.

400 tons GR2 plate, GR5 in cut sizes, tubes, bars and flanges ready. We do not play "tomorrow cheaper" games — we quote the stock we physically hold, with MTC and export packing, same-day dispatch before 3 PM Beijing time.
If sponge drifts another 1,000 RMB, your GR2 conversion quote moves less than the headline suggests. If it rebounds, you already locked.
