Titanium Forged Ring Gr1‑Gr12 ASTM B381 Rolled Titanium Ring For Pressure Vessel Flange
Опубликовано Engineering Team, Shaanxi Qianyi Tuoda Technology Co., Ltd от 2026-10-25
1. Product Identity
Manufactured in Shaanxi Baoji China, titanium forged & rolled ring is produced by ingot upsetting, punching, radial‑axial ring rolling and subsequent heat‑treatment under ASTM B381 specification. Available grades cover Gr1,Gr2 pure titanium and Gr5,Gr9,Gr12 titanium alloys. Different from cutting‑from‑bar blanks, ring‑rolling process maintains continuous metal grain flow line along circumferential direction, greatly improving hoop‑direction mechanical performance. Widely applied for corrosion‑resistant flange blanks, pressure‑vessel shells, rotating sleeve parts, pipeline connection rings and mechanical rotating components. We supply rough‑forged ring, semi‑finished machined ring and near‑net‑shape pre‑machined blanks.

4. Mechanical & Corrosion Performance
-
Mechanical property varies by grade; ring‑rolling optimizes circumferential hoop strength, avoiding anisotropy risk of simple machined‑from‑bar rings.
-
Gr1/Gr2: Excellent chloride corrosion resistance, suitable for chemical flange under medium‑low pressure.
-
Gr5: High‑strength alloy for high‑load rotating parts, moderate corrosion‑resistance.
-
Gr9: Balanced strength and cold formability for hydraulic and marine ring‑shaped components.
-
Gr12: Optimized for reducing acid corrosion environment, widely used in chemical processing equipment.
-
Processing Feature: Hot ring‑rolling followed by stress‑relief annealing to eliminate forging residual stress; critical‑service rings require full hoop‑direction mechanical sampling test.
5. Full Size Range
-
Dimension: Custom inner diameter, outer diameter and height according to customer drawing; support small‑size compact ring up to large‑diameter heavy‑wall rolled ring.
-
Product status: As‑forged black skin ring, pickled semi‑finished ring, rough‑machined ring blank, near‑net‑shape pre‑machined ring.
-
Custom options: Special wall‑thickness ratio, step‑type ring, groove pre‑processing, reserved machining allowance per drawing requirement.
6. Surface Treatment Options
-
As‑forged black skin: Original hot‑forged surface, for customers who will perform full subsequent machining.
-
Pickling surface: Remove high‑temperature oxide scale, expose metal matrix for intermediate inspection.
-
Rough machining: Remove forging skin and surface decarburized layer.
-
Fine machining: Close‑tolerance dimension for ready‑to‑assemble ring parts.
7. Material Comparison: Rolled Titanium Ring vs Ring Machined Directly From Solid Bar

Rolled Titanium Ring (ASTM B381)
|
Machined‑from‑solid‑bar Ring
|
|
Metal grain flow
|
Circumferential continuous grain streamline
|
Grain cut‑off, destroyed hoop‑direction fiber
|
|
Hoop‑direction strength
|
Higher and uniform for pressure & rotating service
|
Lower, anisotropy obvious, risk for cyclic load
|
|
Material utilization rate
|
High, less metal waste
|
Heavy material loss, high cost for large‑size ring
|
|
Suitable scenario
|
Pressure vessel, flange, rotating sleeve, cyclic‑load parts
|
Small‑size non‑critical static auxiliary ring
|
For pressure‑bearing flange and rotating mechanical components, rolled titanium ring is strongly recommended rather than simple bar‑cut ring to guarantee long‑term operational safety.
8. Strict Quality Control & Test Items
