1. Product Identity
Manufactured by titanium factory in Shaanxi Baoji China, Gr2 (TA2) pure titanium rod targets dynamic corrosive working conditions featuring brine, seawater and high‑chloride salt‑water medium. Different from Gr1 anode‑oriented rod, Gr2 possesses higher mechanical strength and outstanding crevice corrosion resistance under gap‑accumulated chloride environment. Mainly used as raw blank for chemical stirring shafts, heat‑exchanger rotating mandrel, seawater circulating equipment shaft, salt‑lake processing equipment and fasteners under gap assembly condition. Available in hot‑rolled, forged and peeled versions, support cut‑to‑length and pre‑machining service for dynamic component blanks.

4. Mechanical & Corrosion Performance
-
Tensile Strength: ≥345 MPa
-
Yield Strength: ≥275 MPa
-
Elongation: ≥20%
-
Corrosion Performance: Outstanding performance for brine and seawater; maintains stable anti‑corrosion property under crevice gap where chloride ion concentrates; avoids local crevice failure frequently seen in stainless steel.
-
Dynamic‑service feature: Balanced strength and toughness, suitable for rotating, oscillating shaft parts under continuous medium erosion; stable oxide film even under slight surface friction wear.
-
Processing Feature: Good machinability for turning, milling, key‑way slotting for stirrer shaft production; argon‑shield welding is feasible for on‑site equipment assembly.
5. Full Size Range
-
Diameter range: Small‑size rolled bar up to large‑diameter forged shaft blank according to project drawing.
-
Length: Random mill length or custom fixed cutting‑length for shaft blank.
-
Product form: Hot‑rolled pickled bar, peeled bar removing surface defect layer, forged heavy‑diameter blank.
-
Custom options: Pre‑turning outer circle, reserved key‑slot machining allowance, special straight‑ness requirement for rotating shaft application.
6. Surface Treatment Options
-
Pickling surface: Remove hot‑working oxide scale, for customers conducting full subsequent machining.
-
Peeled surface: Remove surface decarbonized layer and micro‑defects, recommended for rotating shaft blanks.
-
Polished surface: Reduce medium erosion residue accumulation for shaft surface working in brine environment.
-
Degreasing cleaning: Eliminate processing oil before delivery for salt‑lake production equipment parts.
7. Material Comparison: Gr2 Titanium Rod vs 316L Stainless Steel for Dynamic Brine Equipment

316L Stainless Steel Rod
|
|
Crevice corrosion resistance in brine
|
Excellent, adapt to chloride‑accumulated gap position
|
High risk of crevice corrosion failure under high‑chloride condition
|
|
Performance under rotating friction
|
Self‑repairing passivation film after slight wear
|
Passivation film easy to be destroyed, accelerate local corrosion
|
|
Density
|
4.51g/cm³, lower weight for rotating assembly
|
7.98g/cm³, increases rotary inertia of shaft system
|
|
Whole‑life‑cycle cost
|
Higher initial cost, long service cycle, low maintenance
|
Low purchase cost, risk of early‑stage shaft failure and replacement
