Titanium & Nickel Buying Guide: 9 Stocked Product Categories for B2B Buyers

Titanium & Nickel Buying Guide: 9 Product Categories You Can Source from One Stock-Holding Supplier

If you are sourcing titanium or nickel alloys for chemical, marine, aerospace, medical, energy or desalination projects, the real problem is rarely "who sells titanium." It is who can confirm stock, cut to size, match the standard, issue MTC 3.1, and export the goods without making you wait on a mill schedule.

We are a stock-holding supplier in Baoji, not a broker. Around 800 tons of titanium and nickel materials are kept on hand—plate, tube, rod, wire, fittings, flanges, fasteners and raw material for custom equipment.

This guide walks through our 9 core product categories, what buyers usually get wrong, and how to send an RFQ that gets a usable stock + price reply fast.

Why Buyers Choose a Stock-Holding Supplier Over a Mill or Trading Company

A mill is great for huge projects with long lead times. A broker is great at sending emails. A stockholder sits in the middle and solves the problem most procurement teams actually have:

  • You need 1 plate, 10 fittings, 500 fasteners, or 2 meters of tube—not a full mill heat.
  • You need the item this week, not in 8–12 weeks.
  • You need the grade, standard and tolerance confirmed before the quote.
  • You need EN 10204 3.1 MTC, export packing and commercial documents in one shipment.

In-stock sizes ordered before 15:00 (GMT+8) can be dispatched the same working day. Cut-to-size and machined items typically ship in 3–7 working days.

1. Titanium Plate — Gr1, Gr2, Gr5 (TC4), Gr7, Gr12

Titanium Plate is the backbone of corrosion-resistant equipment: tube sheets, pressure vessels, chlor-alkali cells, seawater structures and aerospace brackets.

  • Thickness: 0.5–100 mm
  • Width up to 2,000 mm, length up to 6,000 mm
  • Grades: Gr1, Gr2, Gr3, Gr4, Gr5/TC4, Gr7, Gr9, Gr12
  • Standards: ASTM B265, ASME SB265, AMS 4911, GB/T 3621
  • Stock: ~400 tons, Gr2 and Gr5 in the widest range

We shear, saw or waterjet cut plate to your dimensions. A 20 kg requirement is handled the same way as a 2-ton order.

Buyer tip: sendthickness × width × length × grade × quantity. Example:6 mm × 1500 × 3000 mm, Gr2, 4 pcs

2. Titanium Tube & Pipe — Seamless and Welded

Used in heat exchangers, condensers, chemical lines and seawater systems.

  • OD: 3–114 mm
  • Wall: 0.5–10 mm
  • Grades: Gr1, Gr2, Gr5, Gr7, Gr9, Gr12
  • Standards: ASTM B338, B861, B862; ASME SB338; GB/T 3624
  • Stock: ~80 tons, Gr2 condenser tube in 19.05 mm and 25.4 mm OD

Tubes are pickled, annealed, eddy-current tested and available hydrostatic tested on request.

Buyer tip: do not just write "titanium tube." WriteOD × wall × length × grade × quantity.

3. Titanium Rod, Bar & Billet

From CNC machining stock to forging feedstock.

  • Diameter: 3–350 mm
  • Length up to 6,000 mm
  • Grades: Gr1, Gr2, Gr5/TC4, Gr7, Gr12, Gr23
  • Standards: ASTM B348, AMS 4928, AMS 2631, GB/T 2965
  • Stock: ~200 tons

Rod is sawn to length in-house. Prototype quantities, one-off blanks and volume machining stock are all workable.

Typical uses: fasteners, pump shafts, valve bodies, medical components, aerospace machined parts, forging billets.

4. Titanium Wire — Filler, Spool and Straight Length

Welding wire and industrial wire are supplied with lot traceability.

  • Diameter: 0.5–8.0 mm
  • Filler grades: ERTi-1, ERTi-2, ERTi-5, ERTi-7, ERTi-12
  • Standards: ASTM B863, AWS A5.16, GB/T 3623
  • Stock: ~50 tons

Surface can be bright, pickled or cleaned for welding.

Buyer tip: tell us the welding process and base metal. We match the filler grade and spool weight.

5. Titanium Pipe Fittings — Elbow, Tee, Reducer, Stub End

Butt-weld and socket-weld fittings held as individual pieces.

  • Types: 90°/45° elbow, equal/reducing tee, concentric/eccentric reducer, cap, stub end, lap joint
  • Grades: Gr1, Gr2, Gr7, Gr12
  • Standards: ASTM B363, ASME B16.9, MSS SP-43
  • Size: 1/2"–24", Sch 5S–Sch 80S
  • Stock: 3,000+ pcs

Mixed pallets are fine—one elbow and forty tees can ship together.

6. Titanium Flanges — WN, SO, Blind, Lap Joint, Threaded

Machined to ASME and DIN/EN dimensions.

  • Types: weld neck, slip-on, blind, lap joint, threaded, reducing, orifice
  • Grades: Gr1, Gr2, Gr7, Gr12, F-2 forgings
  • Standards: ASTM B381, ASME B16.5, B16.47, EN 1092-1 on request
  • Size: 1/2"–24", Class 150–2500
  • Stock: 1,500+ finished pieces

Face finish, bore and bolt circle are confirmed against your piping class before machining.

7. Titanium Fasteners — Bolts, Nuts, Washers, Studs

Small maintenance orders should not trigger minimum-order drama.

  • Types: hex bolt, socket head cap screw, stud bolt, nut, washer, threaded rod, U-bolt
  • Grades: Gr2, Gr5/TC4, Gr7
  • Standards: ASTM F468, F467, ASME B18.2.1/B18.2.2, DIN 912/933/934
  • Size: M3–M64, length up to 500 mm
  • Stock: 30,000+ pcs

Buyer tip: sendtype × size × grade × standard × quantity. Example:Hex bolt M12 × 60, Gr5, DIN 933, 200 pcs

8. Nickel & Nickel Alloys — Plate, Tube, Rod, Wire

When the medium is caustic, acidic, high-temperature or high-pressure, titanium alone may not be the answer.

  • Grades: Ni200/N6, Ni201, Monel 400, Inconel 600/601/625, Incoloy 800/825, Hastelloy C-276/C-22
  • Standards: ASTM B160, B161, B162, B163, B164 and ASME SB series
  • Plate 0.5–50 mm · Tube OD 6–114 mm · Rod 6–200 mm · Wire 0.8–8 mm
  • Stock: ~30 tons

Because titanium and nickel are stocked together, a mixed project can ship on one set of documents.

9. Custom Titanium Equipment — Reactors, Exchangers, Columns, Tanks

Around 100 sets per year. Built to your drawing and process data.

Scope includes:

  • Reactors & autoclaves
  • Shell-and-tube heat exchangers
  • Distillation / absorption columns
  • Storage tanks
  • Agitators, coils, separators
  • Pipe spools and manifolds

Materials: titanium Gr1/Gr2/Gr7/Gr12, nickel alloys, zirconium on request.
Standards: ASME Section VIII Div.1, GB/T 151, NB/T 47003, client drawings.

Documentation includes design calculation, material certificates, WPS/PQR, NDT reports, hydrostatic test report and dimensional inspection report.

Why it matters: the plate, tube and fittings inside your vessel come from our own stock, so the delivery date is not exposed to a third-party mill.
